hi, I'm Lainey!
Based in St. Louis and Columbia, Missouri, I focus on storytelling through photography—from senior celebrations and wedding memories to the dynamic energy of sports photography. Each image I create is designed to capture authentic moments and preserve the stories behind them.
where it all started ...
I still remember opening my first camera and immediately becoming obsessed with capturing everything around me. This led to playing around with my mom's DSLR before I knew what any of the settings meant.

In high school, I had the opportunity to join the yearbook staff and my photography took off. ​I documented every event I could, from Friday night lights to the fall play to science labs.
​
Around this time, I also photographed my classmates' senior portraits, photos for our family friend's Christmas cards and headshots for my neighbor, and suddenly Lainey H Photography was born.

Now, I'm a student a the University of Missouri (MIZ!)
I work for Mizzou Athletics, while also continuing to capturing senior + grad sessions and started shooting weddings.
Each experience has taught me something different about storytelling through photography, whether it was freezing a game-winning shot, documenting the quiet moments between a couple on their wedding day, or capturing seniors as they celebrated their greatest achievement. ​My job is to understand what makes each moment special and preserve it in a way that feels authentic and meaningful.
